Picnic dates
A picnic for two is more relaxed than a restaurant, more private and much cheaper.
- Make it look the part. A proper basket, real plates and cloth napkins make it feel planned.
- Choose the view first. Water, a hill or a garden in bloom does half the work for you.
- Keep the food simple. Things you can eat with your fingers: cheese, bread, fruit and something sweet.
- Bring a drink to toast with, and a flask of tea if the evening gets cool. If you’re driving, pack something alcohol-free.
